Kressida
The events bot for Queer Cymru, a Discord community for LGBTQ+ people across Wales.
Kressida helps members find events near them and organise their own. It runs inside the Queer Cymru Discord server; this page exists so that anyone who sees it in their server logs can find out what it is and who to talk to.
If you run a website and saw “KressidaBot” in your logs
Kressida identifies itself as:
KressidaBot/0.1 (Queer Cymru community events; +https://kressida.app)
- It is not a crawler. It requests one specific calendar feed (ICS or RSS) that a Queer Cymru moderator has deliberately added. It never follows links, never explores a site, and never looks for feeds on its own.
- It asks for a feed at most once an hour, waits between requests, and uses
ETag/Last-Modifiedso an unchanged feed costs you a single small “not modified” response. - Events from Eventbrite come only through Eventbrite's official API, for organisers the moderators have chosen to follow.
- Every event it lists links back to the original page and names the source. Listings are labelled as public listings that Queer Cymru does not organise or endorse.
Want your events listed, corrected or removed? Tell the Queer Cymru moderators and it will be done — no questions asked for removals.
What it does for members
- Find events by place, date and category across Wales, in English or Cymraeg.
- Create community events, reviewed by moderators before they are published.
- RSVP, join waiting lists, and get reminders — only if you opt in.
- Report an event that seems unsafe or misleading; only moderators can read reports.
Privacy
- Members are stored as a Discord ID and nothing else: no names, pronouns, identity, email or profile data.
- Location preferences are towns or regions — never an address or GPS position.
- Organisers can hide an exact venue, or share it only with people who are going.
- The bot never sends direct messages unless a member has switched them on.
- RSVPs are deleted 30 days after an event, and members can erase everything held about
them at any time with
/privacy delete-my-data. - This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts, loads nothing from third parties and keeps no visitor logs.
